Games, ahoy.

My secret power: buying games and then setting them aside for days. Weeks. Months. Years.

I don't do it on purpose. It's just, generally, I start a game when I have a few slots of available time; I get into it; I become proficient and make progress; and then something comes up (RL is astonishingly good at that) and I put it aside momentarily... And then it's hard to return to it, because I've forgotten just where I was, so I postpone further until I've forgotten most of the controls and details anyway so I have to start over from the beginning. It doesn't help that I'm rather the completionist, and like to see everything and finish every side quest, which is crazy time consuming.

Metroid Prime waited two or three years, I think. Resident Evil 4, likewise. Morrowind, heavens. I bought it not very long after it came out in 2002, and only completed it last year.

And still the record was yet to be broken.

Long story short: this last weekend I finished Thief 2 after having owned it for ten years.

One down, several more to go. My bro' offered me Civilization 4 a few days back, and I just got Super Mario Galaxy 2. One lifetime may not suffice.
